Navi: Trips Gaps
Trip gap detection and preferences in Nomu
Navi keeps an eye on your trips so nothing slips through.
Navi: Trips Gaps is Nomu’s optional readiness layer: it looks for common gaps (missing dates, overnight stays without accommodation, missing transport between stops, and simple inbound/outbound reminders) and surfaces them in the trip itinerary and on trip cards — without turning into a second checklist.
What you’ll see
- Trip detail: Inline notices on the relevant days, with actions like Add stay, Add transport, or Add dates (for visits without dates, only Add dates is offered — no dismiss).
- Trip cards (home & trips list): A vague “Needs attention” line (no counts) when there are undismissed high severity gaps and the trip starts within your card attention window (defaults to 60 days). It always sits on the line below the trip dates, with consistent spacing on mobile and desktop. Cards never list individual gap titles.
- Place rail (mobile): A small yellow count badge above the corner of a stop chip when that visit has undismissed high-severity gaps. The number is how many distinct gaps apply to that stop (details stay in the itinerary). Tap or long-press the badge for a short explanation; the badge sits outside the photo circle so it is not clipped.
- Trip overflow menu (⋯): Navi: Trips Gaps toggles gap hints for that trip only.
Preferences
Under Settings → Preferences → Navi: Trips Gaps:
- Enable Navi: Trips Gaps — global master switch. When off, trips show no gap list.
- Card attention window — days before trip start when list cards may show the vague attention line (default 60).
Dismissals are stored per user in preferences, keyed by trip, so they survive reloads; collaborative trips keep dismissals per member.
Silent success
When everything is resolved or dismissed, there is no “all clear” banner — the itinerary simply has no nudges, cards show no attention line, and rail counts disappear.
