Creating a trip

Last updated on

Name your trip, choose a vibe, and get a container ready for places and plans.

A trip in Nomu is the bucket that holds your places, notes, and visibility settings. You are not locking dates forever—you are giving your ideas a name so they stop floating around in five different apps.

Name it for future-you

Pick something you will recognize in a list six months later. City + purpose works well: Lisbon sprint, Thanksgiving with parents, Japan 2027 scratchpad.

Add the first place early

Trips feel real once something is on the map. Add one anchor place—even a neighborhood or hotel block—so Explore and your trip view have something to orbit around.

Visibility

You can keep a trip private or share it later. Sharing is covered in Sharing a trip; you do not have to decide on day one.

Tips

  • Duplicate or vague names get painful fast. If you have two “Summer” trips, add a year or destination.
  • Hitting limits? See I can't add more trips or places.
